The process to find the inductees into the IP Hall of Fame for 2012 is now underway. Earlier this year, five outstanding individuals joined the most exclusive club in IP; one that counts among its members international statesmen, epoch-changing inventors, great authors, visionary chief IP officers and judges who have handed down some of the most important decisions in IP history. We are now looking to add five more names. And we want you to help us (that is IAM, IPEG)
The IP Hall of Fame enables the IP community to honour men and women from business, politics, the law, finance, academia and indeed anywhere else, who have made a significant contribution to IP. Not only is the IP Hall of Fame a way to acknowledge the achievements of people who have helped to create today’s vibrant intellectual property environment and who are working to ensure its continued growth, but it also exists to emphasise the vital role IP plays in the global economy.
Any member of the IP community can make a nomination, and all nominations will be considered by the IP Hall of Fame Academy. A powerhouse of 50 experts, the Academy comprises previous Hall of Fame inductees and key industry figures. Academy members decide on who should be added to their prestigious ranks by choosing the top five candidates from all the nominations received. To make a nomination, click here. The nomination process closes on 9th December.
The names of the inductees for 2012 will be announced in February. A gala dinner to honour them will be held on 25th June 2012 during the IP Business Congress, which is taking place in Portugal from 24th to 26th June.
