Our team

Johan Renes

Johan Renes received his Master of Science degree in Cell Biology/Biochemistry from the Utrecht University in 1988. He joined the AKZO patent department in 1987 and registered as Dutch patent agent in 1991. Johan moved to private practice (Vereenigde) in 1993 and was registered as European patent attorney in 1994. He became partner in 1997 and board member in 1998. In 2007 Johan was one of the founders of JPWave, of which he is now CEO. Johan gained considerable experience in patent prosecution, -litigation, -licensing, -due diligence, IP-strategy, IP-valorisation, IP-management by working for most major pharmaceutical companies in all of these areas and by guiding start-up companies from start to IPO or other exits. His main area of expertise is Life Sciences.
